UK Laser Meet – 12th August 2007 in Leicester Well… what a day!!! Massive thanks to Mark (Fluff) for arranging things, the venue was perfect. Thanks to Paul (Bluesky Lasers) for arranging the t-shirts and it was really nice to put a face to the name And a big thanks to everyone else for attending the event and making it an amazing day. Everyone’s kit was great in its own way, everyone had put in a lot of effort and it really showed. I didn’t crash on the way home so im assuming I can still see fine! I learnt a good few things that day, which will hopefully help me progress in lasering. Thanks to Kevin for showing me lots of new things on the FB3, to be honest I didn’t take half the things in, but hey… Im sure people will agree Stanwax’s 2.5watt white laser was out of this world and was a real highlight of the day. Jem’s scanners running on Kevins Pangolin software was so cool, the rastering was something else! A real show stopper! We had a good laugh at the end displaying Simons (p1lual) 1.2 watt green system onto a building, something like ¼ of a mile away. You cant put the day into words, words just aren’t enough. Here are lots
of photos and some videos – Photo’s speak a thousand words - Ok in no order -
Mark (fluff) 360 degree, 500mw RGB scanner - Pretty impressive
Another one of Marks scanner, he was saying that the galvos in the scanner have been enclosed in a box so less cleaning. This makes them good for clubs as less Maintenances.
And another from Marks, 500mw green scanner, professionally built
The daddy! Stanwax 2.5 watt white laser
Stanwax's 300mw RGY, moving mirror head (thing)
Stanwax's i think 473nm blue and 488nm blue ish laser
One of Stanwax's home made magnetized adjustable mirror mounts. Align the mount up, then pop the front plate off the screws, clean the optic and stick it back in place as its magnetized. In theory as the screws have not moved its still aligned.
Cant remember the chaps name very sorry. Real nice bloke, 100mw odd green scanner
Jem's RGB, DT40pro scanner
Mark H home made RGY scanner, with touch screen monitor and illuminated keyboard
Simons (p1t8ull) 1.2watt green scanner, which we used to project onto a building.
