Moncha USB DAC
This is the Moncha USB DAC from Showtacle

Moncha is an entry DAC and software, which is perfect for anyone just starting out.

It is USB powered so no external source is needed, which is a real plus as it makes life much easier .

Moncha comes with the DAC (hardware) and its own software. The software is user friendly and straight forward to use. You can pretty much plug it in and start using it straight away, Moncha’s simple usability is one of its many strong points. Moncha comes with a selection of pre-programmed beam shows and animations, the software accepts ILDA files and will soon have an ILDA export function for any shows you create. Most other DAC’s do not have an ILDA export function.

I can only go on personal experience and although Moncha is very easy to use it does not have as many features as others DAC’s , however do you need lots of features that may not be useful or do you just simply want to hit play!?

Moncha comes with its own program for drawing/designing your own shows/animations. and as with most show designing software it’s takes a little time to get used to and know which button does what.

One down side to Moncha is that it can only go up to a speed of 30kpps! Although most professional shows are designed for 30k, is this a problem or not?! You decide!

Moncha can run single colour, two colours or full colour. These are all changeable within the software depending on the lasers you have. Moncha also supports TTL and analogue blanking.

Moncha outputs a clear image, there aren't any little tails or wonky lines added to the image, as can happen with cheaper DAC’s. As normal you can adjust the scan speed and angle depending on the beam show or animation you are playing. From experience Moncha outputs just as clearer image as the Pangolin FB3, you really can’t tell any difference between the two outputs.

Moncha uses a standard 25 pin ILDA layout, so no nasty surprises there.

Overall Moncha is an excellent DAC, with very easy to use software and outputs a high quality image. I would highly recommend it to anyone
