405nm is one of the rarest colours available, the diode outputs a maximum of 5mw, which is pretty dull. 405nm is UV or a very dull purple. It works just the same as a UV light, shine it on white and it will glow.

The diode runs on 5v at 30-50ma (each diode is different). This housing has the diode, driver and focusable lens in it.

Ive used a mobile phone charger that converts 240v down to 6v at 500ma to power the diode. So its now a mains powered module!
