I have replaced the 5mw 650nm (red) diode with a 200mw 650nm diode. I am running the diode at 100mw so that it does not over heat and die.

I have used a flexi driver and a 200mw closed can diode.

Here is the diode and diver in position, i used a hot glue gun to secure the diode in place.

The pocket laser show runs on 4.5v using 3x AA batteries. The diode runs on 3 volts a, so i wired the diode up to only two of the batteries and added a switch, which controls the laser only.
